My Black is Transnational

Stephanie Eyocko is a Cameroonian-American. She moved to Texas when she was 8 years old and considers herself an 1.5 generation immigrant. She is a recent graduate of the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and an alum of Hopkins-Nanjing Center program in Nanjing, China. Prior to that, she attended the University of Oklahoma where she studied International studies and Mandarin and East China Normal University where she studied China’s rapid urbanization and its effect on the environment and the world. She is fluent in French and Mandarin and has working knowledge of German. As a China-wonk, she’s lived, studied, and worked in China for 3+ years and explored China through the lenses of environment policy, race relations, and foreign policy.
