My Black is Transnational

Ms. Jessica Imarenezor (Pronounced E-MA-REH-NEH-ZA) is a lawyer, event coordinator, and bartender based in Chicago, Illinois. Ms. Imarenezor graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and received her Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School. Though born in the US, she had a strong cultural upbringing that led her develop a strong connection with her home country, Nigeria. Ms. Imarenezor is a very active member of Nigerian American Professional Association (NAPA). Ms. Imarenezor is Co-Creator of AfroLux a production company that held Passport Vibes, the first Afrobeat street festival in Chicago. She is passionate about community organizing, service, scholarship and creating environments where Black people from all backgrounds, immigrant or non-immigrant, can coexist, learn and grow together while having also having a good time.
