My Black is Transnational

Bryce Henson is a Visiting Assistant Professor of African American Studies at the University of Florida. He is also an executive board member for the Association for the Study of the Worldwide African Diaspora. Before joining the University of Florida, he was the Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of African American Studies at the University of Illinois. He earned his PhD from the Institute of Communications Research with a graduate minor in Latin American & Caribbean Studies at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. His research sits at the intersection of African diaspora studies, Black feminism, cultural studies, global media, and critical theory.
